VEEDERSBURG – Roy Crumley, 64, formerly of Hillsboro, died at his home in Veedersburg at 10 p.m. Tuesday after a week’s illness. He was born north of Hillsboro March 26, 1896, the son of Berl and Dicey McCollum Crumley. He was employed at a battery plant in Attica. His first wife was Naomi Laird, to whom he was wed Dec. 23, 1915 at Danville, Ill. To this union six children were born. His second marriage was to Irene Teagarden. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Roy Jr. of Crawfordsville and Leland of Chicago; four daughters, Mrs. Maxine Clark and Mrs. Loretta Reed of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Pauline Lindquist of Veedersburg and Miss Helen Joan Crumley of Hollywood, Calif.; two brothers, Fred of Alexandria, Va., and Ward of near Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Rene Ballis of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Alice Helmick of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
